The purpose of this study is to comprehend the metaphoric and expressive analysis found in BTS's album "BE" (Deluxe Edition), as well as the implications of this analysis' findings. BTS has catchy songs that are inspiring and many of their songs are particularly motivating for listeners; their lyrics specifically encourage each member to confront the current state of the pandemic. The research being used here is qualitative research using the pendekatan mimesis and ekspresif techniques. By conducting the aforementioned analysis, the audience will examine their morals and beliefs in light of the real-world images that are embedded in the song's lyrics. After doing this study, the participants selected eight songs that included mimetic analysis within a few lyric sections and two songs that included expressive analysis within a few lyric sections.

A moral message can also be interpreted as a message in a work that the author wants to convey to the reader. The presence of a moral message in a novel indicates that the story is intended to benefit the reader as well as to entertain the reader. Moral messages serve as role models and examples for readers. The purpose of this study is to explain the moral message of Jay Asher's novel “Thirteen Reasons Why” and its impact on teens. The research method used in this study is a descriptive qualitative method. The data source used in this study is Jay Asher's novel “Thirteen Reasons Why”. The study found that Jay Asher's novel “Thirteen Reasons Why” contains 18 moral messages, and that there are 7 moral messages that can influence teens.

Morphological analysis is the main areas in studying vocabulary. The objectives of this research are to find out the derivational affixes found in Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland novel by Lewis Carroll and classify the categories of the part of speech in derivational affixes found in novel Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll. The methods used in this research is qualitative method, were the writer tries to find out derivational affixes and category part of speech in Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland novel by Lewis Carroll. The result of this research was there were 37 words with derivational prefixes and 188 words with derivational suffixes. The prefixes are re-, a-, dis-, in- im-, non-, ex-, pre-, mis-, un-, extra-, and be- with prefix re- is the most prefix. While the suffixes are -y, -ure, -ly, -al, -ity, -ate, -ment, -age, -en, -ance, -ant, -hood, -wise, -ion, -er, -able, -less, -ness, -ent, -ify, -ful, -ence, -ic, -ous, and -ice.

This research is motivated by problems that often occur in the environment that women who look attractive tend to get more benefits. Many people say that someone who looks attractive was easier to get a job and often gets special treatment from the people around. This research aims to find out how the issue of beauty privilege uses Roland Barthes' semiotic theory in the movie of "Sierra Burgess is a Loser". This reseacrh used a qualitative descriptive method and this research approach used Roland Barthes' semiotics. The data in this research were taken from the movie of "Sierra Burgess is a Loser" directed by Ian Samuels. The data collection technique in this study is watching the movie, dividing the movie into several scenes based on the research problems, then analyzing the movie using Roland Barthes' semiotic analysis, and drawing conclusions from the results of the analysis. The results of this research state that beauty can’t be measured by a person's appearance, while the problem of beauty privilege in this movie was someone who looks attractive got more benefit from various aspects.

THE PROCESS AND CULTURAL VALUES OF THE MAUDU LOMPOA TRADITION IN CIKOANG VILLAGE TAKALAR REGENCY

The aims of this study are to find out the process of implementing the Maudu Lompoa tradition in the Cikoang village Takalar Regency, and the cultural values that are still adhered to in the Cikoang community of Takalar Regency. The method used is descriptive qualitative method. In this writing, data was obtained from direct observation and interviews in the field by traditional stakeholders, religious leaders, village priests, and one of the Cikoang village community leaders. The results of the research include the process of implementing Maudu Lompoa and cultural values that are still adhered to by the Cikoang community. Where Maudu Lompoa which was carried out royally by the Cikoang community stammed from love for the Prophet Muhammad saw., which implies offering prayers to the Prophet Muhammad saw., The existence of the Maudu Lompoa tradition, it teaches and accustoms the community to always give alms even though it is a little and also the friendship between fellow human beings. The cultural values that are still adhered to by the Cikoang people to this day show that the Cikoang people still uphold their customs and traditions.

When listening to song, the body reduce the production of the hormone cortisol so it can deal with stress and depression. The rise of songs that use words that have hidden meanings makes the listener less understand the meaning of the song. As a result, the purpose of this research is to clarify the types of meaning and types of figurative language meaning. The goal of this research is to determine what types of meaning and types of figurative language meaning in the song “Traitor’’ by Olivia Rodrigo. To provide an accurate rendering of issue recognized, a descriptive qualitative approach is used. The data is taken from the lyrics of the song “Traitor’’ by Olivia Rodrigo. The results of the research show that there were three types of semantic meaning which had been used in the song "’Traitor" namely connotative meaning, conceptual meaning and associative meaning. And there are four types of figurative language meanings used in the song "Traitor" namely simile, personification, metaphor, and paradox.

This study aims to describe (1) What is behind the Romantic in the film If I Stay. (2) How Romantic is in the film If I Stay. Cutler and produced by Denise Di Novi and Alison Greenspan, the script of the film was written by Shauna Cross based on the novel If I Stay by Gayle Forman. The Research Method uses a qualitative descriptive design to analyze the background and romantic problems in this film. The results in this study are to describe the true love story contained in the film If I Stay. The results of the analysis in this study are only taken from a few quotes, focusing on the story, expression and emotional reaction in the character. The conclusion in this study is that there is eternal love, a symbol of the loyalty and sincerity of love from a character of Adam and Mia, and vice versa. This study aims to find out the types of language style contained in the beauty product advertising slogan in Instagram. The research method was collects samples of beauty product advertising slogans from several Instagram accounts using the read and note technique. The research data was in the form of slogans on beauty advertisements uploaded on several beauty product Instagram account pages. The data were analyzed by reading the data that had been found in observing advertisements on Instagram. The result of the study was 18 advertising slogan data containing 28 language styles. The results of the analysis consist of 8 metaphors, 7 alliterations, 4 hyperboles, 2 anaphor, 3 antitheses, 1 personification, I simile, I allusion, and 1 euphemism.

The aim of this research is to explain the intrinsic elements of the novel Bukan Pasar Malam which consists of theme, setting, characters, plot, point of view and message, through readers' responses, as well as the values contained in the novel. To anticipate differences in understanding between writers and readers, an approach is needed to find out readers' responses to a literary work, one of which is by conducting research on literary reception. This type of research uses a qualitative descriptive research method. This study describes and analyzes the data. Using content analysis method, literary reception approach. The results of the research based on the reception of readers of Indonesian Literature Study Program students at the Indonesian Muslim University are the themes in the novel Bukan Pasar Malam which presents post-independence criticism of Indonesia regarding endemic KKN activities (corruption, collusion and nepotism) . The plot in the novel Bukan Pasar Malam is before and flashback. The main character in the novel is the character Aku. The setting presented is so beautiful that one can imagine and feel the place and atmosphere being told. The message from the reader's response is to love our parents, toil is only a support to see the afterlife and what we reap based on what we sow, appreciate the teacher's services. The point of view of this novel is in the first person. The style of language in the novel Bukan Pasar Malam is easily understood by all readers, using standard language and metaphorical figures of speech and the values contained in this novel are based on the responses of Indonesian Literature Students at the Indonesian Muslim University including religion values, social values, moral values. and cultural values.

THE APPLICATION OF THE COLOR-CODED TEXT OF SURAH ASH-SHAMS TO ENHANCE STUDENTS' VOCABULARY ANALYSIS

Methods and materials that are suitable for student circumstances are required to fulfill learning objectives, especially in ELT. Thus, students will put what they have learned into practice so that the learning process can be carried out well. This study was conducted to determine the effect of the color-coded text of surah Ash-Shams in improving students' vocabulary analysis. This research used a quantitative method with a Pre-Experimental design. The population of this research was the grade seventh Junior Highschool and consisted of 10 students. the results of this research showed that students' vocabulary analysis has improved by 42,65% from their starting point. Students also gave positive responses for the usage of color-coded text in Surah Ash-Shams. The students agreed that the color-coded text could ease them to distinguish the word classes. Therefore, it is suggested to employ the color-coded text of surah Ash-Shams or other surahs in the Holy Quran to improve the vocabulary analysis.

The aim of this study was to find out the advantage of using dictating methods on the Zoom Meeting app to improve students’ writing skills. This type of research is survey research approach using descriptive design. The population in this survey includes all fourth semester students of English Language Education at Muslim University Indonesia. Samples from this study were taken using the Total Sampling technique, which means that all populations were used as a sample of 37 Students. In data collection, the instrument used is a closed anglet. The results of the research showed that there were no constraints perceived in Students with this method, seen from the statement no. 3 “Relevant Zoom Meeting app is used to improve student writing skills in dictating methods” and data showed 35.1% Students chose to agree, 27% Students opted to doubt – doubt, 16.2% Students voted to disagree and 16.2% Student voted strongly disagreed. From the output, some Students are unlikely to have trouble using dictating methods on the Zoom Meeting app as a medium to improve writing skills.

The study aimed to examine the difficulties of students with special needs in learning English. The research method used is descriptive qualitative, which gave descriptive of the activity of students with special needs and their learning difficulties. The sample of this study was students with special needs at the senior high school in one of SLB Makassar consisting a mental retarded student and two autistic students. The results showed that the difficulties of students with special needs in learning English are difficulties in understanding and difficulties in solving problems. Furthermore, it was found that listening as the most challenging skills. Those is caused by classroom instructional activities, learning interest, learning motivation and family environment.

This research aims to find out the students’ perceptions of digital ethics in learning activities in the Learning Management System Kalam UMI and the difficulties that students find in doing activities in LMS Kalam UMI. The use of features in the Learning Management System Kalam UMI has been widely used in the online learning process at UMI. This research used a qualitative approach with a descriptive analysis method. This method was used by the researcher to describe and analyze the digital ethics literacy of students at UMI. The result of this research showed from one of the questionnaire items that 11 (64,7%) respondents chose Very Capable and one (5,9%) of them is seemingly Very Capable while 3 (17,6%) respondents chose Capable that indicates practicing ethics in social media use is still accepted. The researcher interviewed some of the respondents and found out that the role of ethics in carrying out activities on LMS Kalam UMI is very important. It can also be concluded that student perceptions of digital ethics in learning activities in the Learning Management System Kalam UMI are positive. This is shown by the large number of research respondents who perceive practicing ethics during learning activities on Kalam UMI, more than half of the research sample interviewed positively considered practicing ethics as important with numerous reasons and points of view.

THE USE OF OPEN-ENDED QUESTIONING TECHNIQUES IN IMPROVING STUDENTS’ READING COMPREHENSION

The study aims to find out the use of open-ended questioning techniques in improving students’ reading comprehension and found students’ obstacles in using open-ended questioning techniques. The study was conducted at SMP Al-Izhar Cendekia Makassar and involved 16 students in class II (class VIII). By using a quantitative approach and a pre-experimental research design, this study collected data through pre-test, post-test, and questionnaires. After processing the data, the writer got the post-test average value greater than the pre-test average value, which is 58.31 > 19.81. It was proven that the use of open-ended questioning techniques in teaching reading comprehension improved by 38.5%. This means that using the open-ended questioning technique improved students’ reading comprehension. In addition, based on students’ responses to the questionnaire via a Google form, the most common obstacles faced by the students were categorized into understanding vocabulary.

This study aims to determine whether the application of the socio- emotional approach can improve students' speaking skills. This study will use quantitative research in the form of an experimental design, this study involves 32 students as a research sample. data collected through tests and questionnaires. the researcher will give a pre-test and post-test, the purpose of the test is to find out the students' speaking skills and also the treatment in 5 meetings to apply the socio- emotional approach. then the researcher will also use a questionnaire to find out students' responses to the socio-emotional approach. The results show that the students' speaking ability in class improves as a consequence of the socio-emotional approach applied to improve students' speaking skills. students become more confident and feel comfortable during speaking practice. they gradually improve their speaking skills and feel valued even when they make mistakes.

Abstract

The focus of this research was to find the effectiveness and the student’s responses to the topic selection method. The researcher applied a pre-experimental design by using a one-group pre-test and post-test design. This research was conducted in class C2 at the third semester of the English Education study program Universitas Muslim Indonesia which involved 8 students as the research sample. The researcher used an oral test consisting of pre-test, treatment, and post-test and then conducted a questionnaire to measure students' responses. The researcher conducted pre-test, treatment, post-test, and the researcher found the percentage of improvement increase was 144,4% and the student’s responses were 76% (Very High), Based on the data above showed that the majority of respondents had a positive attitude in using Topic Selection method in the third-semester English education study program at Universitas Muslim Indonesia. The conclusion of this research the Topic selection method was effective in improving students' speaking skill.

The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness and obstacles in using Colorful Sticky Notes media in teaching reading. This study uses a quantitative method with a class action research approach (CAR). The result of this research is the implementation of effectiveness and obstacles in using Colorful Sticky Notes media. The results of this study indicate the effectiveness of using Colorful Sticky Notes media in teaching reading. Colorful Sticky Notes media is an effective media used to get students excited about learning to read. There are also several reasons students are motivated during the learning process. The average score of students' ability to use Colorful Sticky Notes media increased from 58.82 to 84.68, and passed the minimum mastery curriculum where 100% of students achieved this score.

The subjects in this study were the tourism office, tourist site officers, visitors or tourists. The research lasted for one month and was located in Central Buton District, Mawasangka District. The results showed that there were still many disturbances to the tourist facilities of Mutiara Beach, Central Buton Regency, Mawasangka District, such as a lack of clean water, damaged access roads.

The purpose of this study is to explore the construction of the public relations system at the Regional Inspectorate of South Sulawesi Province, in communication governance and public relations challenges in the implementation of communication governance. The purpose of this study was to find out how the application of identity communication to Metrosexual Men in Makassar city, find out how Metrosexual Men self-determination forms towards their environment in social interactions in Makassar City, and find out the social construction of self in Metrosexual Men in Makassar City. This study uses phenomenological studies, which are more systematic, comprehensive, and practical as an approach that is useful for capturing various phenomena in the social world. Social media is one of individual interactions between individuals in sharing and information exchanges. Social media can present the new communication. Magdalene uses Instagram as one of the platforms to tell and educate feminist issues. This research aims to acknowledge how is the utilization of social media as well as the type of feminist education which is given by Instagram account @Magdalaneid. This research uses qualitative description research method also using diffusion of innovation and feminist theory approach. Using collecting techniques data observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis model which is conducted is data collecting, data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusion. The result of this research is Magdalene took Instagram to get more audience and optimize communication tools in social media, based on that, now followers of Instagram account @Magdaleneid gaining 107k followers. As a form of education given by Magdalene is to provide safe space for opinion exchanges with fearless judgment and also create educational content using feeds and reels feature on their Instagram account.

This study aims to determine public relations activities at the secretariat office of the DPRD of Enrekang Regency in the publication of constituent visits by members of the legislature. The research technique used is qualitative research. Data collection techniques with data analysis using a cycle model. Data collection was carried out by observation, interviews and documentation techniques. Analysis of the research data uses three components consisting of data reduction, presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results showed that the public relations activities of the Enrekang Regency DPRD secretariat included many things, one of which was as a provider of publications for visiting constituents of the legislature, public relations activities consisted of non-physical and physical which included taking publication materials and then process them into appropriate information for the community. Public relations activity in the publication of work visits is only one of the many activities carried out by public relations, while the implementation of publications given by public relations this implementation is nothing but an activity and action carried out by public relations in publications during working visits carried out by members of the Enrekang Regency legislature. In addition to the form of implementing the role of communication for the continuity of activities, in this case, publication is also very important. The purpose of this study aims to: determine the influence of leadership communication patterns on employee performance on the quality of work of East Luwu BKPSDM employees. The study lasted for approximately one month from May 2023 to June 2023. Located at the Office of the East Luwu Human Resources Personnel and Development Agency (BKPSDM) with a population of 35 people. The method used in this study is a quantitative method of descriptive statistics analysis with a data collection process using surveys in the form of questionnaires, data analysis using linear regression analysis. While the theories used in this study are leadership theory and SOR (Stimulus-Organism-Response) Theory. The results of statistical research that have been carried out previously variable Individual Characteristics have a calculated value of 7.834 ≥ table 2, 034 and the significance value is 0.000 ≤ 0.05, then the Leader's Communication Style partially has a significant positive effect on Employee Performance. This means that the leader's communication to his employees is very significant, if the leader has a good communication relationship with his subordinates then this will support the improvement of performance by employees.
