THE PLOT DECOMPOSITION OF THE BATMAN MOVIE BY MATT REEVES

The study aimed to describe the plot decomposition and character characterization of Matt Reeves's movie of The Batman. The plot of the movie depicted the first two years of the night that transformed Bruce Wayne into a nocturnal animal. But as he continued to find his way to becoming Gotham's Dark Knight, Bruce had been forced into a cat-and-mouse game with his greatest threat yet, a crazed killer known for his name “The Riddler”, who was filled with rage and determination to expose the corrupt system. while casting all of Gotham's key political figures. Bruce had to track down the killer and brought him to justice, while also questioning his influence on Gotham up until The Batman. The study investigated the plot of a movie based on an analysis of the movie Batman. The final study was aimed at using a descriptive-qualitative research. The results showed that the plot line was classified as a mixed line, with plot characteristics showing character transformations when faced with moral dilemmas.

EXAMINING THE SPEECH ANXIETY LEVELS OF STUDENTS AT SMAN 1 KALEDUPA WAKATOBI REGENCY

The study aimed to observe the public speaking proficiency and classified the speech anxiety levels of students based on the causal factors of speech anxiety related to communication apprehension, low of self-confidence, and fear of negative evaluation factors. The research utilized a descriptive-qualitative method. The respondents were 35 students at the 11^th grade of SMAN 1 Kaledupa, Wakatobi Regency in academic year of 2022/2023. The research data collection used Foreign Language Speaking Anxiety Scale (FLSAS) Questionnaire. The data were classified by using Likert Scale. The findings indicated that 30 from 35 students were classified into moderate level category and there were 5 students classified into low level category. The research found several linguistic and non-linguistic aspects related to the three main causal factors: fright stage, learning disability (lack of vocabulary, grammatical rules, and pronunciation difficulties), lack of-preparation, low of self-motivation, and uncomfortable when speaking English as the substantial items that influenced speech anxiety when performing public speaking in front of audience.

STUDENTS’ ABILITY IN USING PREFERENCE (STUDY AT SMAN I BUA PONRANG PALOPO)

The objective of this study is to find out the students’ ability in using preference and to reveal the problem faced by the students. The method of this research was descriptive method. In this writing, the data were taken 40 students as sample through purposive sampling technique. Based on analysis through test and questionnaire, the writer concludes that the ability of the students in using preference is classified as “very poor” category. It is mainly caused by the lack of the students’ preference mastery and the lack of the reference book possessed by the students and the library.

AN ANALYSIS OF SOCIAL CRITICS IN SWAMI’S SONGS

The objective of this research is to find out the forms of social critics in the Swami’s songs. The method of this research was descriptive method and contextual approach, which is gone through to lay open or to know the meaning peep at the song lyric pursuant to song context, in this case mean the social criticism in swami’s songs. Based on analysis result, the writer concludes that the forms of social critics that Swami used in their songs is there are three parts, they are the first is deviation of conglomerate, which has divided into four parts that is deviation of executive, deviation of functionary, deviation of politicians, and deviation of Bourgeoisie. The second form is insulting of proletariat which has divided also into two parts are insult of trader of cloister and insult of laborer. The third forms is deviation of human being in generally and this form there is not division like both of social critics forms before.

AN ERROR ANALYSIS IN TRANSLATING ENGLISH NARRATIVE TEXT INTO INDONESIAN THROUGH GOOGLE TRANSLATE APPLICATION

This research aims to investigate the most common grammatical errors made by using Google Translate in translating narrative text and to explore the students’ perception in translating in narrative text using google translate first semester of English education at Universitas Muslim Indonesia. The research method is qualitative method conducted at the first Semester English Education study program at Universitas Muslim Indonesia. The total sample were 12 students. The research instrument employed were grammar test and questionnaire. The data were analysed based on the type of error made by students. some types of error made by student in using google translate. Those errors were of omission,misformation, misordering and addiction
