Author Guidelines

**Apresiasi Sastra: Jurnal Ilmiah Bahasa dan Sastra Indonesia** welcomes original research articles and scholarly review papers in the fields of language, literature, and language education. Manuscripts must not have been previously published or simultaneously submitted to another journal. Authors are required to prepare their manuscripts using the official journal template and comply with the following guidelines.

### 1. General Requirements

* Manuscripts must present original scholarly work and must be free from plagiarism.
* Submitted manuscripts must not be under consideration for publication elsewhere.
* All authors must approve the submitted manuscript and agree to its submission.
* Manuscripts should be submitted in Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx) format using the official journal template.
* Authors are strongly encouraged to use reference management software such as **Mendeley, EndNote, Zotero**, or similar applications.

### 2. Manuscript Formatting

Authors should prepare their manuscripts according to the following formatting requirements:

* Paper size: A4.
* Margins: 2 cm on all sides (top, bottom, left, and right).
* Font: Cambria.
* Main text size: 12 pt.
* Line spacing: Single (1.0).
* Text should be fully justified using standard paragraph formatting.
* Foreign terms should follow the applicable language conventions and be written consistently throughout the manuscript.

### 3. Manuscript Structure

The manuscript should be organized in the following order.

#### Title

The title should be concise, informative, and accurately reflect the content of the manuscript. It should clearly represent the main focus and contribution of the research.

#### Author Information

Provide the full names of all authors without academic titles, institutional affiliations, and active email addresses. One author should be designated as the **Corresponding Author**, whose institutional affiliation and email address must be clearly indicated.

#### Abstract

The abstract must be written in English in a single paragraph and should not exceed **200 words**. It should briefly describe the research background, objectives, theoretical framework, research methods, principal findings, and conclusions. The abstract should be typed in **Cambria 11 pt**, single-spaced, and fit within one page.

Include **three to five keywords** immediately below the abstract. Keywords should be separated by semicolons.

#### Abstrak

For manuscripts written in Indonesian, an Indonesian abstract (**Abstrak**) must also be provided. It should follow the same requirements as the English abstract, including a maximum length of **200 words**, a single paragraph, **Cambria 11 pt**, and single spacing. The abstract should include the research background, objectives, theoretical framework, methods, findings, and conclusions.

Provide **three to five keywords (Kata Kunci)** separated by semicolons.

### 4. Introduction

The Introduction should explain the background and significance of the research topic, clearly formulate the research problem, describe the proposed approach to solving the problem, and demonstrate the novelty and contribution of the study.

This section must also include a relevant literature review to establish the theoretical foundation and research gap. All citations should follow the **American Psychological Association (APA) 7th Edition** citation style using the author–date (body note) system. Every source cited in the text must appear in the reference list.

### 5. Method

The Method section should be written clearly, concisely, and systematically. It should describe the research design, research approach, participants or data sources, research instruments (if applicable), data collection procedures, and data analysis techniques.

The methodological description should provide sufficient information to enable other researchers to understand and replicate the study.

### 6. Results and Discussion

This section presents the major findings of the study in a logical and systematic manner. Results should focus on the research objectives and research questions and may be presented in the form of tables, figures, graphs, statistical analyses, descriptive explanations, or other relevant formats.

The Discussion should interpret the findings by relating them to relevant theories and previous studies published in scholarly journals. Authors are expected to highlight the novelty, significance, and contribution of their findings.

Subsections may be used to improve the organization and readability of the discussion.

#### Tables

* Tables should be numbered consecutively.
* Table titles should appear **above the table**.
* Titles should be written in **Cambria 10 pt**, bold, using title case.
* Tables should be centered on the page and referred to in the text.

#### Figures

* Figures, photographs, graphs, and diagrams should be centered.
* Color figures are acceptable.
* Figure captions should appear **below the figure** in **Cambria 10 pt**, bold.
* All figures must be clear, legible, and of high publication quality.

### 7. Conclusion

The Conclusion should summarize the principal findings of the research based on the objectives of the study. It should not introduce new data or discussion but instead provide a concise synthesis of the research outcomes.

Where appropriate, authors may include recommendations for practical applications, theoretical development, or future research.

### 8. References

The reference list must be prepared using **APA Style (7th Edition)** and managed with reference management software such as **Mendeley, EndNote, Zotero**, or similar tools.

The reference list should meet the following requirements:

* Include **15–20 references**.
* At least **70%** of the references must be articles published in peer-reviewed scholarly journals within the **last five years**.
* No more than **30%** of the references may consist of books or other relevant scholarly sources.
* References must be arranged alphabetically.
* Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs) should be included whenever available.

### 9. Submission Checklist

Before submitting a manuscript, authors should ensure that:

* The manuscript has been prepared using the official journal template.
* All required manuscript components have been completed.
* Citations and references conform to APA 7th Edition.
* Tables and figures are properly numbered and captioned.
* The manuscript has been carefully proofread for grammar, spelling, and formatting.
* The manuscript complies with the journal's similarity and ethical requirements.

### 10. Important Notice

Authors are strongly encouraged to read and follow the journal's writing guidelines and official article template before submission. Manuscripts that do not comply with the formatting requirements or fail to follow the journal template will be **desk rejected** by the Editorial Board prior to the peer-review process. Only manuscripts that fully comply with the journal's submission requirements will proceed to editorial evaluation and peer review.
