This research was conducted to obtain a clear description of the Assimilation Process that occurred in the Qur'an Al-Karim so that it could be implied in the teaching of Phonology at the Arabic Literature Study Program, Universitas Muslim Indonesia Makassar. The method used in this study is a qualitative descriptive method by analyzing the Assimilation Process that occurs in surah Al-waqiah, the method used in data collection is the documentation method and the recording method. The Process of Assimilation is a questioning sentence, and this question sentence in Phonology has another meaning. Based on the data obtained from Surah Al-waqiah about the assimilation process of the 96 verses in the Surah Al-Waqiah there are 2 Forms of Assimilation Process in 60 verses. Assimilation Process There are 2 in it are: Progressive Homorgan Assimilation Process and Total Assimilation Process. Surah Al-waqiah has 17 consonants that undergo Assimilation namely:
ب, ت, ث, د, ر, ز, س, ش, ض, ظ, ف, ك, ل, م, ن, و, ي /b, t, st, d, r, z, s, sy, dh, ʐ, f, k, l, m, n, w, y. Each of these consonants will undergo an assimilation process when close to each other with the nasal alveolar consonant sound ن /n/, the specific nasal sound ن /n/ in the tanwin vowel ً/an/, ٍ/in/, ٌ/un/, and the alveolar lateral consonant sound ل /l/ in the word ال /al/. This discussion can be applied in the teaching of Phonology so that Arabic language learners do not receive many difficulties when studying Phonology, especially in the discussion of the Assimilation Process.
