EFFECTIVENESS OF E-LEARNING SYSTEM “Kalam.umi.ac.id” FOR ENGLISH EDUCATION STUDENTS UMI

Abstract

This pandemic situation is a challenge in itself for the creativity of each individual in using technology to develop the world of education. as a learning tool that is free and popular among UMI students. “kalam.umi.ac.id” is used to bridge teachers and students. "kalam.umi.ac.id" is a tool that is widely used during the Covid-19 pandemic, the reason being that lecturers and students are not required to pay to take advantage of the features in it. This research was conducted to determine the effectiveness of using "kalam.umi .ac.id”. The research was carried out through a qualitative design. Samples were taken using a questionnaire instrument and interviews from 30 5th semester students of Class of 2020, who had used “kalam.umi.ac.id” 4 semesters in their class. Research was given using a questionnaire calculated with a Likert scale and written interviews. And the results of the recap on the assessment of the use of "kalam.umi.ac.id" in the English Language Education Study Program Literature Faculty showed that there were 4 aspects that were fulfilled during the use of this LMS, namely the first: the value on the usefulness aspect was 56% which indicated "kalam. umi.ac.id" is good enough which means that "kalam.umi.ac.id" is quite well received; secondly, the value on the satisfaction aspect is 60% which shows that "kalam.umi.ac.id" gives good satisfaction, and this shows that "kalam.umi.ac.id" can meet the needs of respondents; third, the value at easy of using is 60% which indicates that "kalam, umi, ac, id" is easy to use which means that "kalam.umi.ac.id" can be used properly by respondents; fourth, the score on the easy of learning aspect is 46% which shows that "kalam.umi.ac.id" which means "kalam.umi.ac.id" is a little easy to learn well by respondents, and to find out the effectiveness of the word, researchers need a result value of be studied in one of the 5th semester academic translation courses while studying through "kalam.umi.ac.id". The results of this study were 88.5% of 5th semester students were able to translate correctly and well, and 92.3% of 5th semester students were able understand the purpose of translation.
