Supervised by Syamsidar and Hadijah. The aim of this research was to find out the effectiveness of using English animation movie in improving students' vocabulary mastery. The result of this research revealed that using English animation movie as a media of teaching and learning is effective for students in nineth grade students of SMPN 23 Makassar in improving their vocabulary mastery especially noun and verb. This is demonstrated by how much the student's grades have improved. Based on these findings, it is possible to conclude that there is a significant difference in students' vocabulary mastery before and after they use English animation movie as a media of teaching and learning process, demonstrating that animation movie is effective for improving students' vocabulary mastery.
